When easy isn’t always easy.
WHEN TO AND WHEN NOT TO, TRUST.
We like certainty. We like to know where we’re going, how things will unfold, what the risks are, and whether or not we’ll be okay in the end.
And yet, life rarely gives us that kind of clarity.
Instead, we’re asked to move forward without knowing the outcome. We’re asked to take risks in relationships, in our work, in the way we show up in the world—without guarantees.
And that is terrifying.
What if we make the wrong choice?
What if we trust the wrong person?
What if we step into something new, only to realise we’re in over our heads?
So, we hesitate. We overthink. We wait for more signs, more certainty, more proof that everything will work out.
But here’s the hard truth: trust is never about certainty. It’s about learning to move forward even when you don’t know what’s ahead.
In faith spaces, we were often taught that trust was about believing the right things, holding on to doctrine, or surrendering to an all-controlling God who had a specific plan for our lives. But trust, real trust, isn’t about passively waiting for answers—it’s about learning to move with the mystery.
We are held in something vast and interconnected. A divine unfolding. A current of life that is always shifting, expanding, and creating.
Trust, then, is not about knowing.
It’s about participating.
It’s stepping into the unknown, not because you have every answer, but because you belong to something bigger than certainty.
Maybe the question isn’t: Can I trust this outcome?
Maybe the question is: Can I trust that I am part of something sacred, even when I don’t have all the answers?
Maybe the question is: Can I trust myself to move through whatever comes next?
Because that? That is something you can be sure of.
MINDFUL MOMENT: Take a breath. Imagine yourself held in something bigger—the earth beneath you, the sky above, the invisible web of connection that holds all things together.
Much love,
Liz xo
